UK – Kwik Fit is inviting customers to work out at its car repair and service centres throughout January.

  • Fit Kwik was devised after the company’s technicians noticed a link between their fitness levels and strength from lifting tyres every day
  • The stripped-down, no-frills exercise regime is being marketed as the antithesis of faddy diets

To help customers get their new year’s resolutions off to a good start, Kwik Fit has started running free 30-minute classes at locations across England and Scotland.

The workout was designed by personal trainer Mikah Simpson using spare parts found in Kwik Fit garages and includes tyre flips, lifts and throws. For those unable to attend a class, each exercise will be posted to Kwik Fit’s social media channels.

To launch the health drive, agency Taylor Herring recreated Fred with Tires, one of fashion photographer Herb Ritts’ most iconic portraits, with Kwik Fit staff posing as Fred.

‘We think everyone is exhausted by faddy diet plans and complicated exercise regimes,’ says Paul Boulton, operations director of Kwik Fit. ‘We want to put the fun back into fitness for the everyday person with a no-nonsense class that doesn’t take itself too seriously.’
