Browsing for fun

27 : 10 : 2015 Camper : E-commerce : Browsing

Global – Spanish footwear brand Camper’s online store harnesses the power of the elements for the launch of its autumn/winter 2015 range.

  • The website is one of a growing number of experimental and playful online brand experiences
  • Photographer Daniel Sannwald and make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench created the striking visuals

Forget browsing by size, style or price, Camper invites customers to choose between fire, water, wood, earth and metal in a series of videos and interactive games by Parisian creative studio Convoy.

Camper’s psychedelic experience enables customers to lose themselves in the browsing experience, similar to the whimsical wanderings offered by Le Manifeste d’Hermés.

Visitors can play a virtual xylophone on Planet Wood and use their mouse to manipulate a Newton’s Cradle made from molten lava on Planet Metal.

The Big Picture

Online shopping used to be about speed and convenience, but as e-commerce matures, brands are borrowing the experiential elements of physical retail to enhance the digital experience. Find out more in our Virtual Browsing microtrend.
