Fashion hunt

20 : 10 : 2015 Kenzo : Churchill Gardens : Surveillance

Global – Kenzo introduces its autumn/winter 2015 collection with a striking parody of surveillance society.

  • The issue of privacy elicits a strong response in the digital age
  • The future of luxury will be tied to this priceless commodity

Churchill Gardens borrows its name from the urban Pimlico location where the campaign was shot and invites people to adopt the view of a surveillance analyst scanning the streets of London from afar.

Model Damaris Goddrie tries in vain to elude Partel Oliva’s camera by hiding in the estate’s high-rises, behind trees and on rooftops. In one shot, we are told that Goddrie is almost 2km away, but can still be found by zooming in on the image.

‘With satellites in the sky, drones overhead, CCTV all around and GPS in our pockets, is it still possible to get lost?’ asks Kenzo.

The Big Picture

When LS:N Global asked over 2,000 luxury consumers how they would define luxury in the future, security and privacy topped the charts. Read our Luxury Futures 2015 report to find out why.
