UK – The Soap Co is a luxury soap, hand wash and lotion brand creating jobs for disabled and disadvantaged people.
More than 70% of The Soap Co’s workforce have a disability or come from a disadvantaged background.
The company, which employs about 100 people across the UK and helps them to adapt their disability to the workplace, plans to create a further 60 jobs for disabled and disadvantaged people each year.
First opening as a small shop in the Lake District, The Soap Co is now launching as a social enterprise brand with a range of soaps and lotions crafted from sustainable and locally sourced ingredients.
‘This is an opportunity to prove that there does not have to be a trade-off between quality and social benefit,’ says Jeremy Robinson, CEO of CLARITY and The Soap Co.
