Los Angeles – Musician Kimbra invites fans to take a digital road trip through her latest track.

  • Artist Jono Brandel has created a digital artwork inspired by the great American road trip
  • Tap the screen to change perspective, pinch to zoom in and explore the many instrumental layers of Kimbra’s latest track

For the launch of her album The Golden Echo, Kimbra invited a series of artists to create works around 14 of her tracks. For Carolina, a track describing a character yearning to reach her goal, artist Jono Brandel has developed an interactive app experience for tablet and smartphone that enables listeners to explore the music more deeply.

Brandel created a different environment for each instrumental element of the track, kaleidoscopic landscapes that whirl, pulse and race with the rhythm of Kimbra’s melodies, which listeners can navigate by tapping and pinching the screen.

‘Since the objects are generated dynamically, the application offers the ability to take control and forge your own path,’ explains Brandel, echoing the sentiments of creative collective DELQA and their work for new museum incubator New Inc.

The Big Picture: The joy of the journey is back. Find out more about how the digital world is enabling consumers to explore new environments by booking your place at Beyond Borders, our Autumn/Winter 2015 Trend Briefing, or speak to your account manager.
