London – The Dulwich Picture Gallery is asking visitors to play a game of Spot the Difference for a new exhibition.

One of the 270 works in the Made in China: A Doug Fishbone Project has been replaced with a Chinese reproduction and visitors are being asked to guess which one.

For three months the identity of the fraud will be kept a secret and when its identity is revealed, five lucky entrants who guessed correctly will win reproductions of chosen works from the gallery’s collection.

‘Hanging a replica will make visitors to Dulwich question their own judgement,’ says conceptual artist and curator Fishbone. ‘A hidden copy makes everything open to suspicion and, by the same token, makes everything subject to more scrutiny. In this sense it’s a project about focus, attention, even mindfulness.’

The exhibition will be open from 10 February to 26 April 2015.
