Desk power: Furniture that charges your mobile

Espoo, Finland – Now you can charge your phone simply by placing it on your desk.

Powerkiss consists of a transmitter that can be fitted into the surface of a table or desk, and a receiver that is plugged into your phone. In order for the charge to work, users attach a small receiver stick to their phone and place it on the surface of the enabled object.

Powerkiss Corporation says that similar products will soon be available for laptops and other electronic devices. It also plans to collaborate with architects and automobile firms so that they can incorporate wireless-charging technology into their designs.
