France – Philippe Starck has re-invented the country club with a five-storey health and wellbeing complex.

Draped in Starck’s signature modern, bold and colourful design, Le Nuage is a 3,000-square-metre space dedicated to health, fitness and relaxation.

Each of the five floors is described as a village. In La Village Santé, visitors can  book a consultation with a doctor, dietitian or osteopath.  Le Village Aquatique features a pool, a sauna and will be offering aqua spinning. There is also a gym and workout area for those with personal trainers – as well as childcare facilities.

The complex also features La Place du Village, a social and retail space that includes a bar, restaurant, nail bar, hair salon and pop-up stores selling sportswear.

Le Nuage is the manifestation of the Body Temples trend that LS:N Global has previously reported on. As consumers continue to dedicate time to living a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle, retail and leisure spaces are offering luxury, multi-purpose places to do so. For another example, see our Innovate feature on The Springs, Los Angeles’ latest wellness centre.
