Paris – French designer Mathieu Lehanneur has created a small polygonal wireless speaker, Boom Boom, that is built for an Intuitive Future.
The speaker, a collaboration with sound company Binauric, is designed to streamline the traditionally tangled wire, button-filled design of the technology. Its polygonal shape combines playfulness and simplicity. Lehanneur wants you to pick it up and put it down like you would a piece of fruit, in a carefree way without thinking too much about the mechanics inside.
But it is those inside mechanics where things get special. Although it appears simple, Boom Boom contains not only traditional speaker technology, but also dormant technology that may not be needed now, but could be used in the future when software is developed. An accelerometer, light sensors and microphones are all included for future use.
