US – A new iPhone app, Glitché, distorts photographs using effects based on computer glitches, slitscanning and datamoshing.
Brands are increasingly using computer error graphics to generate unexpected aesthetics, as we reported in our Mega-System Style microtrend.
Developed by art director Vladimir Shreyder and developers Boris Golovnev and Ivan Shornikov, the app enables users to distort pictures, taking them away from their original aesthetic or the Instagram craze, towards forms of digital art.
The app’s retro-like graphics add a sense of nostalgia, while giving users the chance to create something new.
