Patagonia, Chile – A new hotel and spa has opened on the edge of the Torres del Paine national park.
The Tierra Patagonia was designed by three of Chile’s leading architects – Cazu Zegers, Roberto Benavente and Rodrigo Ferrer. The exterior structure, designed for minimum impact on the environment, features a low-lying shell that mimics the surrounding landscape.
Each of the hotel’s 42 rooms look out over Lake Sarmiento and the iconic Paine Massif. Various outdoor activities are available, including horseback riding and hiking.
The interior has a clean, Scandinavian aesthetic, with traditional Patagonian textiles and trims incorporating a sense of the locality.
