London – As we count down to next week’s Global Futures Forum we introduce artists’ consortium United Visual Artists (UVA) as the latest disruptor on the roster.
UVA combines art, design and technology to create immersive spaces that explore the interplay between real and constructed experiences. The multidisciplinary collective combines elements such as interactive light and sound installations to create pioneering site-specific exhibits.
The group’s latest venture, Another Space, is a brand-focused project that works with innovators in the fashion and consumer markets. Another Space helps brands to curate their campaigns to create forward-thinking design and communication solutions that connect the digital and physical worlds. In August this year the collective collaborated with Nike to bring Unlimited You, an immersive exercise experience, which combined CGI film and installation lighting that responded to a specially commissioned soundtrack as participants worked out.
Matt Clark, co-founder of UVA, believes in creating environments that disrupt the way we perceive the world around us: ‘The pinnacle of all creative work is the suspension of disbelief, that feeling that you’re transported into a different place.’
