New York – Design consultancy 2 x 4 has designed a hyper-real-style bespoke wallpaper for Prada’s SoHo store.
Carl Burgess, the founder and creative director of More Soon, was commissioned by 2 x 4 to create 3D images of photographs, which were then used in the 200-feet long 3D XL wallpaper adorning the walls of the SoHo boutique. The pattern features metallic, burnished figures of models in different poses wearing clothes from the autumn/winter 2013 Prada collection.
Burgess used campaign photos featuring models wearing garments from the autumn/winter 2013 range and rendered them into 3D images to create an army of lifeless, inert characters reminiscent of a dystopian comic book scenario.
Combining a dark palette with imposing characters splashed across the walls, 2 x 4 has created an ominous vibe that evokes the design cues of our Futurist Montage design direction.
