New York – Italian fashion house Valentino has joined the luxury engagement world of digital brand spaces with its virtual museum. The museum showcases almost 50 years of the designer’s work through immersive galleries housed entirely online.
The Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum is a downloadable desktop application designed by the digital agency Novacom Associés Paris, along with architects Patrick Kinmonth and Antonio Monfreda, to bring the museum to life.
The experientially focused digital museum invites users to navigate a series of rooms, organised by theme and rendered in 3D that in the physical world would stretch over 10,000 square metres. The museum draws on a database of over 180 videos and 5,000 images, including Valentino’s original sketches.
After the similarly engaging Chanel Culture heritage exhibition in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, and associated website complete with gaming and heritage pages, Valentino is displaying how luxury brands need to put more emphasis on their luxury digital strategy. Read more in our Luxury Futures report.
