London – For the creators of Talc magazine, the word ‘stimulus’ covers a lot of ground. The magazine, billeted as ‘visual stimulus’, covers architecture, design and erotica in one well-designed package. This is an adult magazine for the cultured voyeur, male or female.
Talc is an ‘antidote to the lads’ mags’, says editor Fauzia Musa. Its lineage references old-school Playboy, which had thought-provoking articles as well as beautiful nudes.
While the team behind Talc has been working on the magazine for over a year, to reach its final stage of fruition – publication – they are turning to Kickstarter this month.
‘We realised that in Talc we had created a unique concept, and perhaps something that existing market conditions and distribution networks weren’t ready for, so we decided to seek an alternative channel for promotion and distribution,’ founder and creative director Edward Vince tells LS:N Global.
