Blank slate: A colourless clubhouse in China

Zhengzhou, China – Japanese studio Noiz Architects has designed a clubhouse for a large private company in Zhengzhou using only white, cream and grey colour palettes throughout.

The interiors are all white with a hint of grey, with a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D features and a mix of textures to create an architecturally complex monochromatic space.

‘To contrast with the busy surroundings, we decided to make the interior palette as colourless as possible, making everything white to remove the sense of weight and busyness of the outside,’ say the designers.

To bring a sense of tactility to the interior, Noiz used different textures, mixing sculptural furniture, trompe-l’oeil wallpaper and a chandelier of LED lights that mimics the night sky.
