London – A new exhibition of typographic posters based on football chants went on display in East London last night.
The exhibition, Glory Glory, featured the work of 32 studios and designers from the UK and Europe, including Spin, AGI, The Chase, Oslo studio Heydays and Amsterdam’s Experimental Jetset. A book of the exhibition, which attracted almost 300 submissions, has been released containing 95 large format posters. Proceeds will go to British Blind Sport.
Designer Nick Blakeman, who co-curated the exhibition, linked the appeal of the concept to a new mood of intellectualism and connoisseurship surrounding football. ‘There is this new sophistication about football and that helped us get people on board,’ he says.
