Centre stage: Local hotel plays to its heritage

Amsterdam – Hotel V Nesplein is a boutique hotel inspired by the local area in which the interior changes continually like a theatre set.

Brands are increasingly using aesthetics from local areas and adopting their themes and designs to attract customers, as we reported in our Chameleon Brands microtrend.

At the heart of the hotel is The Lobby, which offers visitors a diverse experience with a range of sets. One section, complete with a chandelier, is designed to take guests back to a grander era. In another area, a saloon bar takes visitors to the Wild West, while the library is a great place to relax with a brandy.

Run by a family of 11th-century Amsterdammers, the hotel is steeped in local history, heritage and stories, giving it a unique character.
