International – Google has unveiled a new Chrome Experiment, an interactive website, in which users embark on an adventure to the fictional land of Oz.
Designed to coincide with the forthcoming release of Disney’s blockbuster, Oz: The Great and Powerful, the site lets users personally take the path to Oz using new web browser techniques and high-quality images.
Adventurers have to battle a mighty tornado to reach Oz, but there is plenty of action to keep them entertained on the way, including a hot air balloon to commandeer, a photo booth to take and edit photos, and a music application and zoetrope to create films.
This experiment is a great example of how designers are rethinking the way in which web users interact with and navigate pages. For more, read our HTML5 Toolkit.
