Curtains made of high-quality fabric usually require professional installation. But consumers increasingly want customisable interior spaces, as reflected by products such as the Philips Hue.
‘A curtain, we believe, is much more than something to keep light out and privacy in,’ says Kvadrat CEO Anders Byriel. ‘A curtain offers the opportunity to control light and create or completely change the atmosphere in a room.’
Designers considered the fact that home installers might not fit curtains to professional standards, and created Ready Made Curtain with a DIY aesthetic to match this. ‘We believe in the charm of the imperfect in contrast with the overly sanitised interior,’ say Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec.
