London – The Gourmand is a new food, art and culture journal that brings together inspirational words, photography, illustration and recipes.
‘We wanted to make a magazine that broke the mould of the typical food journal,’ co-founder David Lane tells LS:N Global. ‘Publishers don’t realise that a lot of young people are really into cooking and are spending their money on going to restaurants and buying quality ingredients. As a result, there isn’t a publication that is tailored to them.’
Issue 00 covers topics such as crocodile farming, the Manhattan cocktail and an interview with house music duo The 2 Bears as well as a photo editorial by Swedish photographer Gustav Almestål and illustrations by Thibaud Herem.
