London – At LS:N Global’s Just Nots network evening at our headquarters, editor James Wallman interviewed James Plunkett, secretary to the Commission on Living Standards at research organisation the Resolution Foundation.
In the interview, Plunkett, a former Downing Street official who now tracks economic trends for the Resolution Foundation, explains how hard life is and will be for the Just Nots.
He notes how wages have not risen since 2002 for many and how the squeeze has left the lowest earners and middle-income families feeling a sense of frustration. ‘A lot of their money every month goes on just staying afloat,’ he says.
