Get UP and go: Handy app keeps an eye on health

San Francisco – Mobile technology company Jawbone has created a wristband and app called UP, a total health-monitoring device.

The app tracks how much you move, what exercise you do, what and when you eat, as well as how well you are sleeping.

The wristband synchronises with the user’s iPhone and transfers data to the app. UP encourages rest by tracking periods of deep and light sleep, promotes healthy eating by taking pictures of the food you eat and when, and sets targets for movement and exercise.

This is a well-executed and seamless way for Self-Quants to evaluate their lifestyles.
