London – As part of the Bloomberg Summer event at the Roundhouse, British designer and architect Ron Arad has created a 360-degree interactive installation called Curtain Call.
The installation, consisting of 5,600 translucent silicone tubes suspended from an 18m-diameter circle, will form a screen that will show video animations and films from some of Arad’s creative friends. The work will be visible from inside and outside the circle.
On each day of the event, a new artist will show his or her work. Painter and photographer Gabriel and Shira Klasmer will present video art made from photographs, while artist Christian Marclay will show an audiovisual composition called Pianorama, a piano keyboard, extended and looped within a giant circle, played by many hands.
