A new era for The Future Laboratory

A new era for The Future Laboratory

Our CEO announces an evolution of our strategic foresight offering, alongside a new website

It was fashionable in the 1990s to make a big song and dance about the launch of a new website. In those days, the Macarena, The Blair Witch Project and anxieties around the Y2K bug dominated popular culture. As we race towards the 2020s, new cultural memes, uncertainties and anxieties are emerging.

And now, almost 10 years after the launch of thefuturelaboratory.com, it is time for a refresh. But this is not just about our website; it’s also a relaunch of our business. Our identity is as future-ready as it was in 2007, but everything behind the scenes is changing.

We are re-asserting our commitment to world-leading forecasting; researching and communicating the forces that are shaping the future for consumers and lifestyle industries globally. This research – or foresight – is evolving beyond verticals to cover more horizontals including wellness, travel and youth. We are also launching a future scenario series, in which we explore the far futures of topics including mobility, families and smart cities.

We are re-asserting our commitment to world-leading forecasting; researching and communicating the forces that are shaping the future for consumers and lifestyle industries globally.

As exciting as these foresight developments are, the evolution of The Future Laboratory is not just about our use of foresight; it is also about how our foresight can help our clients to be more prepared for the future. It is our ambition to provide transformational foresight for companies that know that a long-term outlook is the best way to protect and grow a business in times of uncertainty and rapid change.

And that is the focus of our new look – to help businesses plan for what’s around the corner and ensure they feel inspired, confident and fit for the future.

The Future Laboratory will release more news over the coming months regarding our new services, events, foresight and partnerships, which are all designed to bring the power of future-facing insight to organisations. In the meantime, please have a look around our new digital home and explore our products, services and thinking. We value your feedback and look forward to making a better future happen together.
