London – Blink is a new luxury travel service that creates bespoke ephemeral experiences.

  • The personalised service is run by luxury travel agency Black Tomato
  • It takes between three and five months to plan a Blink trip, which can be held anywhere in the world

In a bid to take personalised travel to the next level, Blink hosts its clients in custom-built accommodation. Subscribers to the service select a country or region they would like to visit, which could range from ‘deserts to glaciers, jungles to lakes’, and Blink finds a piece of land on which to erect temporary lodgings.

Guests can fine-tune each aspect of the experience, from the view they will enjoy to the type of bed linen used. Staff are provided to assist guests during their stay and Blink provides each traveller with a personalised itinerary.

‘Blink aims to get clients off the grid experiencing a one-of-a-kind travel experience that can never be replicated in that same location,’ says Tom Marchant, co-founder of Black Tomato.

The Big Picture

Luxury consumers are increasingly looking for bespoke experiential trips rather than holidays created for the mass market. For more on the future of luxury travel, read our interview with Laura Mitchell, marketing manager at luxury travel agency Brown & Hudson.
