New York – Hardware start-up Insensi is launching the Ily, a smart landline phone.
Simplicity is key to the Ily phone, which can be used with the tap of a finger on the eight-inch touchscreen. Aimed at the older and very young generations, the idea is to connect Flat-Agers with Generation I children as Insensi’s research found that 85% of grandparents feel like they do not see or speak to their grandchildren enough.
Created by design firm Map, the visual aesthetic is no-fuss modern with the bare minimum of features – video, voice and messaging – required to communicate, making it more inviting to those who aren’t technology-savvy. For those who are, there is an option to connect to wifi and apps for iOS and Android can also be downloaded. This wireless phone reduces the need for grandparents and under-fives to own a smart mobile as it makes keeping in contact that little bit simpler.
Technology will continue to shape the Future Family. The Ily taps into a smart simplicity, enabling communication between Flat-Agers and their digitally savvy Generation I relatives.
