Kit and Ace is inviting guests at luxury hotels in cities including London, New York and Melbourne to shop for its collection from the comfort of their hotel foyer. In London, the Tom Dixon-designed Mondrian hotel is hosting the Carry-on pop-up for one week in April, while in Chicago, guests at Soho House are invited to add some Technical Cashmere to their luggage.

‘The Carry-on pop-up concept was developed knowing that travellers discover cities online well before checking in to their hotel,’ said JJ Wilson, co-founder and head of brand at Kit and Ace. ‘We wanted to create a multiplatform experience that offered the same content online and offline where people could shop for travel essentials and explore cities around the world at the same time.’

The Big Picture

Once the realm of high-fashion couture shows, hotels are increasingly used by mid-market brands to offer intimate collection previews and try-ons to globe-trotting travellers short of time. Find out more in our Room Service Retail microtrend.
