Los Angeles – Clothing and accessories brand Everlane’s new take on radical transparency is putting conscious consumerism centre stage.
To celebrate the brand’s open policy on provenance, Everlane is hosting Transparent City, a series of live events bringing local residents and craftspeople together, starting in Los Angeles. Events range from speaking panels to factory tours, intimate dinners and discussions with local restaurateurs, bloggers, retailers and baristas. ‘The brand was founded with the mission of Radical Transparency, the belief that customers have the right to know the cost and origin stories behind their products,’ explains Everlane marketing coordinator Alyssa Bergerson. ‘This year, we’re scaling up with our city-wide tours, going behind the scenes of local businesses and with the people that make their cities unique.’
The Big Picture: Led by Re-con Men, consumers are looking for the human touch when it comes to deciding which brands to invest in.
