Dalziel and Pow Conductive Ink at Retail Design Expo, London

Olympia, London – Design consultancy Dalziel + Pow impressed visitors to London’s flagship retail design and marketing event, the Retail Design Expo, with its interactive display using conductive ink.

  • Dalziel + Pow pushed the boundaries of storytelling within a confined space
  • ‘The premium in the future will be on creating unique, brand-defining experiences that keep consumers coming back’ – Total Retail 2015, PwC

The stand featured simple, cartoonish images that told the story of the agency’s inception, applied to a neutral wooden backdrop that served as the perfect foil to the lively animation. When visitors placed their hands on or touched certain images they completed the electric circuit, causing the board to come to life. ‘As we move to online and more digital shopping experiences, retailers are increasingly looking at ways to bring customers [into their spaces] and engage them,’ says Dalziel + Pow head of digital Ross Phillips. ‘We believe part of that is being more playful, allowing customers to play with brands in a way that is not focused on sales.’

The Big Picture:  Awakening Tech has the power to bring the everyday to life by making any surface, object or material a platform for storytelling.
