Austin, Texas – A new digital kiosk concept is creating an interactive store solution for selling e-magazines and e-books. Cynergy software presented the new concept at the music, film, and interactive conference and festival South by Southwest (SXSW), demonstrating how the new digital kiosk could offer a quick, hassle-free purchase.
Users can browse the magazines using the touchscreen display, just as they would on a regular newsstand. To buy a particular e-title, customers place their tablet or e-reader device on to the display table and physically touch and drag the digital item from the kiosk display to their device.
Placing an e-reader onto the digital kiosk surface automatically puts it into shopping-cart mode and sends information about the user’s credit to the kiosk, leading to a hands-free purchase.
