Bring a bottle: Melbourne cocktail bar introduces BYO events

04 : 11 : 2014 The Everleigh : BYO? Challenge The Bartender : Futuretainment

Melbourne – Cocktail bar The Everleigh will host a monthly BYO?: Challenge the Bartender event, where customers are invited to bring a bottle of their choosing for their night’s drinking and to challenge the bar staff to make a cocktail from it.

The aspirational bring-your-own (BYO) trend, which LS:N Global covered in our Boutique BYO microtrend, has made its way down under. For one night each month, The Everleigh’s bar staff will leave the sanctity of the bar and venture among the crowds of thirsty guests, accompanied by custom-made trolleys that feature everything they will need to make their concoctions.

After an hour of mixing, testing and drinking, guests will be invited to swap bottles with each other and experience a change of pace.

‘The hope is that BYO events will enable customers to unmask the bartender and encourage consumers to become more involved in the experience of drinking,’ Zara Young, marketing and events manager at The Everleigh, tells LS:N Global. ‘Recipes will be available to take home on small score cards for guests to try out at their next dinner party.’
