Abu Dhabi – An illuminating take on hospitality, the world’s largest LED project, using some 5,000 fixtures, has recently been completed. Created by Asymptote Architecture with lighting design by Arup, the Yas Hotel is encased in a glowing shell that can run colour-changing light sequences and display low-res 3D videos.
Channelling our Light Futures trend in spectacular fashion, the hotel is a fine example of the grandiose use of light technology in new architecture.
