Las Vegas – The first affordable 3D printer, called The Cube, has been designed for the home by content-to-print company 3D Systems.
The printer comes with software that interacts with website cubify.com, which enables people to share and upload digital models in a community. Users can sell their designs, and receive 60% of the price they set.
‘The goal is to introduce 3D printers into the homes of people where kids and mums and dads can create together,’ says Rajeev Kulkarni, vice-president and general manager of 3D Systems.
