Global – Brands are creating skincare products and services that combat the negative effects of our digital habits.
Our digital habits are wreaking havoc on our skin, according to leading dermatologists. High-energy Visible (HEV) light emitted by electronic devices such as smartphones and computers is potentially more damaging to skin than UVA and UVB rays, and our tendency to look down at our phone is causing the skin around our neck to age faster, a condition dermatologists have termed tech neck.
‘The problem of wrinkles and sagging jowls and neck used to begin in late middle age,’ says Dr Christopher Rowland Payne, consultant dermatologist at The London Clinic. ‘But in the past 10 years, because of tech neck, it has become a problem for a generation of younger women.’
