London – Acclaimed artist Doug Aitken’s Station to Station: A 30 Day Happening is an exhibition where no two days are the same.
Following a successful cross-country tour, Aitken is bringing his living art format to London, inviting a roster of creative talent to take up residence at London’s Barbican Centre.
Throughout July 2015, the exhibition will host artists, dancers and musicians in purpose-built studios, where visitors can observe the creative process as it unfolds. This sprawling performance piece offers an unprecedented degree of access to some of the world’s most acclaimed artists, including Albert Oehlen, and studios such as Fraser Muggeridge, which is using the space to design and print record sleeves before dancers and choreographers take over.
Alongside event partner The Vinyl Factory – which has set up a fully functional recording studio – Station to Station will see hundreds of free art events taking place during July 2015.
