Perfect partnership: Toogood takes up residence at Hostem

London - Hostem, the cult revivalist menswear store in East London, has recently opened a womenswear department with a focus on discreet luxury. In contrast to the revivalist-style menswear department, the new womenswear floor is light and refined, and features parquet flooring and industrial steel display units.

London - Hostem, the cult revivalist menswear store in East London, has recently opened a womenswear department with a focus on discreet luxury. In contrast to the revivalist-style menswear department, the new womenswear floor designed by JamesPlumb is light and refined, and features parquet flooring and industrial steel display units.

To mark the opening of the store, LS:N Global favourite designer Faye Toogood has been invited to be its artist in residence for six months. Pieces from Toogood’s latest fashion collection sit alongside her striking industrial furniture pieces. The centrepiece, a paint-splattered table, is scattered with books and artefacts, and can also be used to host workshops and dinners.

‘We wanted to give Studio Toogood a platform,’ Hostem founder James Brown tells Nowfashion, ‘whereby the consumers understand the process and immerse themselves in Toogood’s world, which would normally be closed off or unexplored.’

The collaboration between Hostem and Toogood makes perfect sense as both brands share similar principles. For more on designers working together in a dynamic way, read our Symbiotic Branding macrotrend.
