San Francisco – Industrial design studio Box Clever has created a concrete table that references tectonic plates and is designed to stop electric cords becoming a tangled mess.
The table top comprises four angular concrete slabs that come together to form a channel that runs from each leg. As well as hiding cables, the channel also locks bowls and plates in place so that they appear to float on the surface.
The use of darkened concrete with gilded, metallic bowls fits with our Industrial Futurism design direction, in which designers are inspired by dystopian futures.
