Milan – Food theatre took centre stage at The Revolving Room installation by Patricia Urquiola for Kvadrat, where think tank BE OPEN and Danish food designers I’m A Kombo created an experience in the spirit of Conviviality Culture
At furniture brand Moroso’s showroom, which was installed with rotating textile walls, I’m A Kombo combined contemporary Nordic flavours with traditional Italian food. Vibrant food parcels were encased in colourful fabric and each dish and drink was inspired by the rich colours and qualities of the new Kvadrat textile collection.
‘We wanted communication to be a central point of the food design,’ says Lasse Askov, co-founder of I’m A Kombo. ‘We made it so the fabric bowl sat on the bottle so that people could shake hands and gesticulate.’
Dehydrated beetroot with aged parma harm, puffed pork rind with parmesan popcorn and cream filled green bell peppers were artfully served with bespoke juices. For more experiential food design and packaging by I’m A Kombo, see our Innovate El Kombo.
