International – Despite some brands’ claims, many consumers are sceptical about whether the products they buy are truly organic.
To help consumers discover what is in their food, Lapka Electronics has developed Lapka, a device that links with a free app to monitor and analyse the chemical content of food.
Set for release in September, Lapka connects to the iPhone and uses highly sensitive sensors to analyse food and detect contaminating substances such as synthetic fertilizer. It also measures temperature and humidity, and reveals whether levels are considered safe.
More consumers are looking for new technologies that help them monitor their health and wellbeing. Lapka is a great example of a device and app that give consumers more control over the substances they consume.
