Basel – Studio FormaFantasma has presented its Craftica range of furniture and tools for Fendi at Design Miami/ Basel. The collection, part of the studio’s Design Performance programme, is made from waste Fendi leather and animal by-products.
The collection includes vessels made from bulbous blown cow bladders and a series of water bags featuring the thick colourful skins from perch and wolffish.
‘The project is a homage to leather, but the most important element is that the materials are left over by-products from the food industry,’ FormaFantasma designer Simone Farresin tells LS:N Global.
This is the first time Fendi has brought its Design Performance programme to Design Miami/ Basel. Studio FormaFantasma and Fendi craftsmen are designing items live on-site during the exhibition and will be adding to the collection throughout the week.
