London – The Inter Ikea Centre Group, parent company of home furnishings company Ikea, plans to build an entire neighbourhood called Strand East outside the Olympic Park in East London, through its property division, LandProp.
The development will cover 26 acres and will contain a town square, 1,200 new homes, offices, restaurants and hotels.
‘We see Strand East as a place for families that contributes to the regeneration of Stratford and takes its place alongside the many neighbourhoods of London,’ says Harald Müller, managing director of LandProp.
This is a good opportunity for the brand to take a role in regenerating the area. For more on how smart brands are creating a sense of community, read our Village Brands microtrend
