Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Maaike Fransen showed a collection of photographs called Peripatetic Paraphernalia at her graduation show during Dutch Design Week.
The exhibit features faceless characters modelling unusual, pseudo-practical products and inventions. The work focuses on the idea of a nomadic lifestyle, in which found objects are given perverse new uses.
This counter-intuitive mix of cultural and semiotic references resembles the work covered in LS:N Global’s Mix Mash design direction.
