Berlin – Do you find it hard to come up with a new dish to cook each day of the week? On-the-go consumers in Schöneberg, Berlin, have found a solution to the problem – the ‘walkable cookbook’ offered by Kochhaus.
When shoppers walk into the store, they find tables with recipes alongside all the ingredients required to make the dish. The aim is to inspire people to cook at home, so Kochhaus’s tables and chests are filled with ingredients for classics such as coq au vin and risotto, or international dishes such as tom kha gai Thai soup or Indian curry. Flyers next to the ingredients give illustrated instructions on how to bring them together, including an explanation of the oils and spices needed to enhance the flavours. As LS:N Global explores in its Conviviality Culture report, intimate events such as dinner parties are on the rise. The Kochhaus concept is a great source of inspiration.
