The Retail Futures Forum 2016 explained how rumours about the demise of bricks-and-mortar retail have been greatly exaggerated and how shopping centres with key flagship stores are opening globally more than at any point in the past 20 years.

We also showed how online brands such as Amazon and Google are fast establishing footholds in the real world, and digital retail is making big strides forward in step with the re-invention of the physical store.

We heard from digital design duo DVTK, who spoke about their work for household names such as Kenzo, as well as architect Tom Bartlett, whose global practice Waldo Works has designed interiors for Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and Smythson.

Topman senior digital creative manager Tom Lancaster explained what makes a compelling digital identity, while Clerkenwell London COO Sara Carter spoke about reinvigorating a stagnating industry with new retail experiences.

Endource CEO and founder Troy Collins and Style.com editorial director Melissa Dick completed our roster of expert speakers, while chefs Blanch & Shock and bakers Flour Girls wowed guests with their emoji-inspired menu.
