North America – This week’s microtrend profiles the new studios offering an accessible way into the practice of mindfulness.
Mimicking the accessibility of on-demand beauty services such as Heyday and Drybar, these new meditation spots take a convenience-driven approach to meditation.
Studios such as MNDFL and Unplug Meditation, for example, are offering newcomers a practical route into the art of mindfulness. Classes last for 30–45 minutes and are easily bookable without a need for long-term commitment. ‘I wanted to be able to go to a modern, non-religious drop-in studio where I could explore meditation in a contemporary context,’ Ellie Burrows, co-founder of MNDFL, tells LS:N Global.
