US – Leafs by Snoop is a line of marijuana products by the eponymous rapper that looks more sophisticated than stoner.

  • The range was designed by renowned agency Pentagram
  • Briefed to create a product that didn’t carry the traditional tropes of cannabis

Inspired by ‘laid-back California cool’, the packaging re-imagines the humble pot leaf as a luxury logo replete with ‘jewel-like facets’ for a sophisticated edge. Some of Snoop’s most famous lines, including ‘Smoke Weed Everyday’ and ‘Ooooweeee’ appear on the products in his own handwriting.

‘The challenge was to create a brand that captured Snoop’s unique personality and style,’ says Pentagram. ‘At the same time, it was important that it appealed to a broad spectrum of users.’

The branding was used across the entire line of products, which includes different strains of marijuana, cannabis extracts and edibles such as chocolate and sweets.

The Big Picture

As marijuana laws change, cannabis is increasingly treated with the same design and brand sensibility as any other product. For more, see our Cannabusiness market.
