Paris - At Maison & Objet next week, design studio Fabrica will present a new collection of objects and accessories for the table, inspired by the cultural differences of the designers working in the brand’s head office.
The collection, entitled A Table, explores the notion of the table as a meeting place where different cultures come together and share their customs and traditions. The pieces, which include items such as plates, bowls, glasses and cutting boards, are all inspired by the food habits and nationalities of the young creatives at Fabrica.
A set of glasses mimic the form of cups used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies while an aperitif set takes its inspiration from the typical Indian habit of sharing and tasting many different foods.
Every object features a symbol denoting the country of inspiration, including a crown for England, an ideogram for China and Japan, and a Renaissance lily for Italy.
