Toronto, London, Berlin – Launched by the global team at digital art blog Creative Applications NetworkHOLO magazine examines the overlap between technology, science and art to explore the new normal in our technology-loving society.

The first issue, which was funded by Kickstarter, is a 226-page study of how once disparate discourses of science and art are now converging to create new narratives about our hyper-connected world. 

‘This magazine is an attempt to come to terms with the new normal, a milieu so undefined, unpredictable and wonderfully unruly that it leaves us disorientated at times,’ reads the introduction. ‘By taking the time to convene with those who interrogate how we engage with the world today, the opportunities and perils become a little more clear.’ HOLO explores these themes through profiles and essays that look at how the future is being formed now.

In our Re-enlightenment Rising macrotrend we explored how science is the ruling paradigm of our age, and is inspiring other facets of culture. HOLO is an example of how artists and researchers are coming together to ask questions that might not have answers during this new existential crisis.
