Paris – Skincare brand Lierac has introduced fresh packaging for its new Prescription line of cosmetics that references revivalist aesthetics while stressing performance through the visual language of colour coding.
The packaging, created by design agency Brandimage, was inspired by pharmacology, and highlights the product’s positioning between ‘dermatological effectiveness’ and ‘haute cosmetology’.
Products in the range contain different high-performance ingredients, and are each paired with a distinct colour. The Soothing line, for sensitive skin, is labelled in pale blue, while Correcting, for brown spots, comes in light green.
‘The simple colour code accentuates the product’s readability and intended use,’ say the designers, ‘while adhering to a graphic charter that recalls apothecary packaging, and retains the brown glass of the medicinal world.’
